Alliance Française de Kandy (AFK) was honored to welcome three Senators from France on 24 April 2026. The delegation expressed their appreciation for the outstanding work carried out by AFK in promoting the French language and culture throughout the region.
During the visit, a special medal was presented to the President of AFK, Mr. Sabry Abuthahir, in recognition of his valuable contributions and dedication to strengthening cultural and educational ties.
Later in the evening, Mr. Ravana Wijeratne, Honorary Consul of France in Kandy, joined the delegation for a special dinner held at the Mountbatten Bungalow, providing an opportunity for further discussions and cultural exchange.
The visit highlighted the strong relationship between France and Sri Lanka and reaffirmed the importance of promoting French language and culture through institutions such as Alliance Française de Kandy.
