Film Screening – No More Land by Anomaa Rajakaruna
As part of the Sister Library launch weekend in Kandy, the Alliance Française de Kandy was pleased to host a screening of No More Land (40 min | 2024) by Anomaa Rajakaruna, commissioned by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka.
The screening was followed by a thoughtful conversation with director Anomaa Rajakaruna and Professor Sumathy Sivamohan.
No More Land focuses on the district of Ampara and traces the impact of the Gal Oya resettlement project through the voices of eleven women from across communities, including the indigenous Adivasi.
The Sister Library is currently open to the public at the newly launched library of the Alliance Française de Kandy. This project is funded by the Franco-German Cultural Fund, established in 2003 to mark the 40th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty of friendship between France and Germany, supporting cultural and artistic projects that foster Franco-German cooperation.
